As the Principal Support and Engagement Officer you will:

  • Work collaboratively and flexibly within the ICT Resources and Initiatives team to support a diverse range of operational and digital resource management activities
  • Lead the team in delivering state-wide access to digital resources, including online databases and eBooks, and maintaining strong engagement with the team's many stakeholders
  • Employ strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and well-developed communication skills to ensure quality services and outcomes.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide high level subject matter expertise relevant to the delivery of innovative library and information services across a dynamic and diverse organisation.
  • Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports based on efficient and effective analysis of information.
  • Effectively acquire, maintain and apply knowledge of relevant published digital and online resources, government processes, and review operational documentation to support the priorities and functions of the unit.
  • Develop and refine resources and support materials to maintain their accuracy and meet the publishing standards of the Department.

Highly desirable skills and experience:

  • High level MS Office skills, experience using Online Library Management Systems, and willingness to learn new technical applications to support websites and other engagement activities.
  • Previous library experience and /or eligibility for Associate Membership of the Australian Library and Information Association is highly desirable.
  • Ability to provide administrative support across a professional /para-professional team.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and capacity to learn quickly and respond with agility.
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and self-motivation, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
