About the Department:

About the Role

As the Principal, Reviews you will:

  • Lead school reviews across Queensland State Schools to inform school and system improvement.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of school-led reviews as part of validation teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver school reviews, aligned to system priorities and initiatives, using evidence-based tools and methodologies. Conduct reviews in line with agreed methodologies and processes.
  • As review chair, lead review teams, including the support and mentoring of peer and external reviewers.
  • Capture high-quality evidence in review reports that generate insights to inform school, region and system decision making.
  • Identify and share effective practice.
  • Implement review approaches responsive to current and emerging system priorities.
  • Develop a rapport and engage with a range of stakeholders including Principals, school leaders, teachers, school staff, students, parents and carers and community members.
  • The timing and location of school reviews can be determining factor in when the employee is appointed. Successful applicants will be expected to attend training prior to undertaking the role.
  • Applicants must be able to travel, including overnight absences.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award - State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
  • Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 7.4 of the Department of Education State School Teachers Certified Agreement 2019.
  • When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
