About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic-thinking person who can work effectively in a dynamic team, ensuring that state school students, teachers and leaders are supported to achieve the Department's agenda to realise the potential of every student. This position requires contributing to multiple and varying projects relating to senior schooling.

The successful applicant will draw on their experiences to contribute to the Schools and Student Support strategic vision of preparing every student for their future and supporting positive transitions from school onto their next steps into further education and employment.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Supporting the strategic vision of Schools and Student Support through knowledge of the Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student strategy, in relation to thew Ready for the future phase;
  • Providing expert and authoritative advice to senior officers to inform departmental responses to current and emerging issues relating to senior schooling;
  • Consulting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to inform delivery of resources across the senior schooling portfolio

Highly desirable skills and experience;

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Department's strategic plans and policies.
  • High level written, spoken and digital communication skills including the ability to create high quality professional development materials and a demonstrated ability to deliver digitally. 
  • Knowledge of senior schooling policies, procedures and current initiatives.
  • Prior experience in Vocational Education and Training in schools would be beneficial to the successful applicant.
