About the Role

As the Principal Program Officer, you will:

  • Manage the delivery of early childhood programs including contract and performance management of funded services, as well as, the effective and efficient administration of funding via the online grants management system, ensuring a strong and effective customer service focus.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic initiative and provide advice on policy development, operational planning and practice. 

The Principal Program Officer reports to the Manager of the work unit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide high level advice to ensure the efficient, effective and coordinated development of departmental strategies relative to early childhood education and care services and programs.
  • Provide strategic analysis and advice on complex operational policy, program and legislative issues relative to human services.
  • Manage a suite of programs, contracts and funding rounds and associated service providers to ensure the strategic aims and objectives of the Government are being achieved.
  • Provide leadership and coordination of responses to achieve identified departmental outcomes and strategies.
  • Liaise, consult and assist in the management of the design and implementation of strategic planning and policy strategies for the provision of children, family and community services and initiatives in Queensland.
