About the Role
Governance, Strategy and Planning undertakes a range of enterprise activities to support the department to meet its strategic objectives and operational requirements, and delivers services and products to support frontline and corporate staff to effectively and confidently perform their duties.
GSP is seeking a motivated, critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills who is passionate about working with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for our customers. The Strategy Design team within GSP leads the design, development, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of strategy and communicates departmental priorities to support informed decision-making by internal and external stakeholders.
This role will work with stakeholders across the department to lead the development and evaluation of education and early childhood strategies, policies, programs and projects. This may include providing secretariat support to high-level governance groups, and planning and managing stakeholder consultation.
About You
We are looking for a Principal Policy Officer who has the following attributes:
- Experience in strategic policy and/or program design and development
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs, policies and strategies
- The ability to research and analyse issues, communicate complex information in clear and user-friendly products, and make informed recommendations
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, and a commitment to customer service
- High level writing and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, time management and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
