Position Information

Gledswood Hills Public School, is a large school, housed in a new, state-of-the-art facility located in South Western Sydney. It is part of the Macarthur Network of Schools. 1007 students are enrolled at Gledswood Hills Public School, where students from a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) make up 51% of the school population and 3% of students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Our school motto is 'Together We Can' and reflects our school culture of inclusion, collaboration and belonging.

Continual monitoring of student performance data determines areas of need and success at class and school level. The school has a strong focus on high quality teaching and learning. General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Specific Selection Criteria

In addition to the general selection criteria,

1.     A highly visible, approachable leader with exemplary interpersonal skills and the proven capacity to work collaboratively to form positive, productive relationships with all community members so the educational and wellbeing outcomes of all students are prioritised in the short and longer term.

2.      An exemplary leader with demonstrated emotional intelligence and proven expertise in working collaboratively with other school executive, all staff, as well as colleagues in other schools to keep the school on the current positive trajectory of successful innovative curriculum reform and student wellbeing programming aligned to the NSW Plan for Public Education and the School Excellence Plan.

3.     A proven instructional leader with the strategic capacity to consultatively demonstrate and collaboratively continue to implement whole school programs focused on high-quality, evidence-based, differentiated practice for all students in the mainstream and support unit settings.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2026.
