Position Information

Belmore Boys' High School, specialises in boys’ education, focusing on the academic, social and emotional growth of its students.  Set in southwestern Sydney, its 640 students and 70 teaching and non-teaching staff form a community that focuses on the holistic development of each of its members. The diverse student population represents 35 languages with 98% of students from language backgrounds other than English. With a FOI of 142 and ICSEA is 948, school operations are underpinned by leading excellence for equity in the pursuit of exceptional post school outcomes.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,

1. Demonstrated visible leadership that reflects high level interpersonal skills, engagement of all community members and fostering relationships with key stakeholders to increase opportunities and excellence in student outcomes

2. High level expertise in leading quality boys' education that develops the social, emotional, physical and academic dimensions of each student to achieve excellence in stage and post school outcomes

3. Expertise in whole school strategic planning and implementation of high impact professional learning to build capacity of staff to achieve DoE priorities with a focus on explicit teaching and equity through excellence

4. Outstanding demonstrated capacity to develop effective and clear school systems and procedures in line with department policies and procedures, to facilitate growth in a culture of high expectations, trust and positive student and staff wellbeing

Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P3 for 2025 and Principal Level P3 for 2026.
