Position Information
Lambton Public School is located in the Newcastle area on the traditional lands of the Awabakal people. As a central pillar of the community for over 150 years, the school proudly educates students across multiple generations and maintains strong connections with our wider community including Lambton High School, Muloonbinbah Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group and University of Newcastle. We work closely with local preschools and Lambton High School, to ensure strong relationships and successful transitions from kindergarten to Year 7.
The school serves a diverse enrolment of 350 students with a FOEI of 65, reflecting a high level of community engagement. The student body is culturally rich, with 19.7% of students identifying as EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) and 8.5% identifying as Aboriginal. The school is deeply committed to the Aboriginal Education and Multicultural Education Policies, supported by a dedicated Autism support class and a comprehensive learning support framework.
A hallmark of the school is its collaborative partnership with an active P&C, which drives excellence initiatives and enhances the school’s positive culture. The site serves as a community hub, hosting Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and various community groups within its facilities. These partnerships directly contribute to the enhancement of learning resources and playground spaces.
Lambton Public School provides a holistic education with a broad range of extracurricular opportunities in sport, creative and performing arts, debating, and leadership.
