Position Information
Eastern Creek Public School is a student-centred school where the development of strong partnerships with parents/carers and the broader community are actively encouraged and valued. The school has an enrolment of 292 students, 11% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. A balanced, comprehensive curriculum catering for differences in achievement and ability is provided to students, including students enrolled in a Public Preschool. Effective literacy and numeracy programs are complemented by co-curricular programs in the Arts, student leadership and Aboriginal Education. Eastern Creek Public School has a committed and professional staff, ranging from early career through to highly experienced. The executive team plays an integral role to ensure quality programs are delivered to students by highly skilled teachers. General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, proven ability to be a collaborative, approachable and visible leader with outstanding personal and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to lead a culture of high quality teaching and learning. A demonstrated commitment to enhancing partnerships with parents/carers, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and members of the community from non-English speaking backgrounds. Proven capacity to lead a Public School preschool. Demonstrated ability to lead staff to develop students’ social, emotional, physical and creative growth.

Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. Please refer to the information regarding the Classification Structure for Principals.
The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2025.
