About Wavell State High School

Wavell State High School is situated between Wavell Heights, Kedron and Chermside in a residential environment. The school is seven kilometres from the Brisbane central business district.

The school offers a wide range of opportunities available for our students, both within the school curriculum and through extra-curricular activities. Wavell State High School is a large highly sought after school characterised by outstanding achievement in the academic, cultural and sporting arenas. The school comprises a junior school (years 7, 8 and 9) and a senior school (years 10, 11 and 12).

About the Role

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Leading the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Upholding the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Understand the legislation and policies impacting on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.
