About Us:

Established in 1982 Nanango State High School is a small rural secondary high school of on average 600 students. Nanango State High School is located 190km North West of Brisbane and 140km North of Toowoomba. Nanango State High School caters for students from Years 7 to Year 12 with current enrolment numbers at 498. The ideal principal will lead an improvement agenda built around innovation, quality teaching and learning, inclusive practices and strong community partnerships.

Nanango has a proud tradition in both curricula and extra curricula activities. We have great modern facilities that allow students to experience many ‘real world' experiences at school. We pride ourselves in providing individual programs for all students. 

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead the school community in developing and committing to a shared vision that delivers high-quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Model ethical, values-based leadership while embedding inclusive and socially just practices across all aspects of school life.
  • Establish and sustain high expectations for student achievement and staff performance, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents, government agencies, community groups, industry, and business to enhance opportunities and outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strategic, future-focused leadership through sound knowledge of relevant legislation and effective management of human, financial, and physical resources to achieve school goals.
