About Duaringa State School

Duaringa State School provides an inclusive educational program for all students, with a kindy to year six enrolment arranged within multi-age classrooms and a total current enrolment of fifty students. The school has an embedded climate of mutual respect and co-operation with collaborative decision-making and valuing of individual strengths and talents of staff and students. Located in the Central Highlands, Duaringa is located in a rural area, along the Capricorn Highway, approximately 120km west of Rockhampton and is not far from the breathtaking Blackdown Tableland National Park. The school contributes to a shared small school HOD C position based in Rockhampton to support the quality assurance of curriculum and moderation processes.

About the Role

You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
  • Futures oriented and strategic.
  • Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
  • Manage resources to achieve goals.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
