About us
Binjour Plateau State School is a small rural school where the principal's role is primarily a teaching one. Our school motto is “Grow with Binjour.” Students are taught the Australian Curriculum in a multi-age classroom from Prep to Year 6. Quality results are achieved by teachers understanding each individual student's strengths and planning differentiated teaching and learning experiences using high-yield pedagogies. This provides students with opportunities to utilise their strengths when demonstrating their knowledge and understanding. Specialist teachers visit the school to teach Health & Physical Education, Music, and Chinese (Year 3-6 students). Our school chaplain visits each Wednesday to support the wellbeing of staff, students, and families.
Your Role
As the Principal you will:
- Deliver the vision of the department.
- Improve the educational outcomes of students in their schools.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
The Principal reports through the School Supervisor to the Regional Director.
Your Responsibilities
As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
