About the Role
To succeed in this role, you need to demonstrate a sold grounding in leading, or significantly contributing to the delivery and project management, of assurance processes in a large, complex environment. You are analytical and enjoy working with stakeholders across the department and have the skills to work on ambiguous problems to arrive at clear, evidence-based solutions. You are seeking a move into a dynamic, high performing team who provides support to the schools, business units and the Chief Finance Officer.
Your Responsibilities
As the Principal Financial Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the annual CFO Statement of Assurance program including administering surveys, conducting testing, developing and presenting reports on the department's performance and financial control environment.
- Provide advice to statutory bodies under the Minister for Education and the Arts and assess statutory body loan and other financial arrangement requests.
- Undertake financial monitoring and analysis of various statutory bodies (including ratio analysis and borrowing capacity assessments).
- Use financial data, models or systems to evaluate performance, financial trends and identify business and financial risk.
- Prepare Ministerial and departmental briefings, ad hoc reports, research papers, undertake financial projects or resolve other issues, when requested by the Lead Business Analyst or Director.
