About the Role:
The successful candidate will lead the ongoing development and implementation of early years services across the state, including SDK's, ensuring alignment to the Department's strategic direction. The successful candidate will lead the continued development of high quality curriculum teaching and learning- resources for SDK sites to implement and quality assurance processes for the K-2 Strategic team, to support the delivery of future focussed learning for children in the early years.
The role requires a high degree of leadership, management and accountability for the delivery of project outcomes (including advice, resources and professional learning), project governance, and communication, and presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to equity and excellence through the delivery of excellence in the delivery of high quality curriculum teaching and learning of State Delivered Kindy programs.
K-2 strategies is an innovative and future-focussed portfolio, with the Deputy Principal providing strategic and project leadership, governance, or oversight to each of the following areas:
- In consultation and collaboration with SSS, all areas of development and implementation of curriculum, teaching and learning and pedological practices for State Delivered Kindergartens (SDK) across the State inclusive of the delivery, legal requirements and governance and communications.
- Working with key stakeholders inclusive of early years services to deliver high quality SDK services in rural and remote communities.
- Partner with other government and non-government agencies to implement and lead the curriculum teaching and learning inclusive of all aspects of SDK.
- Build capacity of all stakeholders to lead dynamic teams in both central and regional offices to deliver high quality and targeted environments, including school reviews, inclusive of SDK sites.
- Work across diverse teams within and external to the Department of Education to develop and implement capability building programs targeted at quality delivery of early years services across the state mastering excellence in communication with a range of stakeholders.
About You:
A high degree of strategic thinking, excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, and the ability to quality assure correspondence, advice, resources, and project documentation. The ideal candidate will have background and experience in SDK sites and both government and non-government early years services.
Mandatory Requirements:
- You must be a permanent employee of the department with a substantive teaching or classified officer role employed under Teaching in State Education Award – State 2016, have current full registration as a teacher and should be aware that temporary internal moves for the purposes of the department's payroll processes are referred to as internal secondments.
- Employees' engaged temporarily as Education Officer - Special Duties have a requirement of 36¼ hours per week attendance and arrangements as outlined in clause 5.12 of the Department of Education State School Teachers' Certified Agreement 2022
- When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
