Following the announcement of Dr Michelle Kearney’s retirement in July 2025 after 14 full and wonderful years of dedicated service in the pursuit of innovative practice the Board of Bayview College invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants for the role of Principal, commencing Term 3, 2025.
As the CEO of Portland Christian Community College Ltd, the Principal collaborates with and supports the College Board to ensure the ongoing success of the College through the design, delivery and review the Strategic Plan. The Principal of Bayview College is deeply embedded in the life of the local community. This role will suit a person of Christian faith, an educational leader with the integrity, conviction, character and courage, who role models and proactively promotes a respectful and positive learning environment. Suitable for an aspirant or established Principal, the successful applicant will be passionate about playing an active part in delivering on the potential of education to transform lives.
The Principal’s role is to inform, guide, lead and empower staff, students and parents in their Christian faith. With strategic oversight across all aspects of operations, the appointee will be a relational leader, who engages readily with one and all, models a strengths-based approach and will be a creative, lateral thinker who delivers.
The successful candidate will:
■ demonstrate a commitment to the practice of their own Christian faith, to ecumenism and to promoting and supporting the beliefs and practices of the school
■ demonstrate innovative educational leadership attributes and dispositions, evident in a culture that nurtures positive, collaborative teamwork where agency and empowerment are visibly manifested
■ have proven experience in developing and delivering of a bespoke contemporary learning, teaching and pedagogy curriculum for learners to thrive in the 21st century
■ maintain a learning environment that promotes inclusion, passion, creativity and commitment to personal excellence
■ be an established educational leader, preferably with experience in and accountability for school administration, staff development, compliance, finances and governance
■ provide strategic oversight of all operational aspects, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
The successful applicant will benefit from an attractive five-year executive contract with an option to renew. Eligible candidates must have a right to work in Australia at time of application and be eligible for VIT registration.
