Your Role

As the Principal Advisor, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, you will:

  • Provide leadership and advice in the planning and implementation of a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework at the regional and school level to support the department's agenda for improvement in schools.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.
  • Lead the development and delivery of professional learning and resources to build capability across schools and the region.
  • Support schools to define and allocate roles and responsibilities within their MTSS framework.
  • Work with school teams to co-develop action plans that set measurable goals for establishing, implementing, and embedding MTSS.
  • Guide schools through staged implementation cycles, ensuring fidelity, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of MTSS implementation to support continuous improvement.
  • Foster collaboration with schools, regional staff and external partners to build shared understanding and practice excellence.
  • Advocate for evidence-based approaches and drive innovation in student support strategies.
  • Collaborate with regional inclusion, wellbeing, behaviour, and curriculum teams to ensure consistent messaging and support to schools.

Responsibilities

The Principal Advisor, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support has responsibility for the following:

  • Work collaboratively with senior officers, key partners and regions to shape strategic thinking to promote and support the delivery of a state-wide consistent multi-tiered framework for behaviour support.
  • Advise region and school teams in evidence-based strategies required to develop whole school, multi-tiered framework.
  • Lead, manage and monitor the success of significant implementation projects, strategies, policies and innovative educational frameworks and communicate with key stakeholders and clients to raise awareness of the impacts of significant milestones, issues and achievements.
  • Implement evaluation and monitoring processes which measure the impact of strategic initiatives and administrative processes to inform current and future agendas.
  • Foster a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment that encourages, professional growth and continuous improvement.
  • liaison and communication skills to enable the effective resolution of complex organisational issues, including the capacity and ability to negotiate or communicate on behalf of the office with clients or other interested groups.
