About the Role

The Principal Advisor, Behaviour has responsibility of the following:

  • Lead the development of policy responses to significant initiatives, issues and risks for state schools related to student behaviour management.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.
  • Establish effective internal and external networks and liaise, communicate and coordinate with key stakeholders to achieve required outcomes.
  • Participate in and lead the work of the team to develop projects, strategic policy, guidelines, statewide service delivery implementation and program evaluation.
  • Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the unit's priorities, ensuring that the outcomes are aligned to, and supportive of, the department's commitment and agenda.
  • Provide project & policy planning and support to assist with the development and implementation of department strategic initiatives. This includes current and emerging Australian government and State government initiatives.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to senior officers of the department and other key stakeholders on issues relevant to the specific accountabilities of the role.
