Location: Croydon, South London Start Date: January 2026 Pay: £95 - £115 per day

Veritas Education is working with a warm and inclusive primary school in Croydon to recruit a dedicated and caring Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is well known for its nurturing ethos and strong commitment to ensuring every child thrives academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, providing both one-to-one and small-group support to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and form positive relationships in the classroom.

This role is ideal for a patient, motivated, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting children to flourish in an engaging and inclusive primary school environment.

The Ideal Primary Teaching Assistant Will Have:

  • Proven experience supporting children in a primary school setting (essential)

  • Knowledge of strategies that support learning, communication, and behaviour

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children with additional needs

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families

    • Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils

  • Assisting the class teacher with delivering differentiated learning activities

  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development

  • Using creative strategies and resources to increase engagement and understanding

  • Monitoring pupil progress and sharing observations with the class teacher and SENCO

  • Helping maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
