Veritas Education is recruiting a Year 2 Class Teacher for a primary school in Blackburn, starting in January 2027 on a one-year fixed-term contract.

This is an opportunity to guide pupils through an important stage in their learning, building their confidence, independence and readiness for Key Stage 2.

The role

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 2 curriculum.

  • Strengthen pupils' foundations in reading, writing and mathematics.

  • Use assessment to identify gaps, target support and challenge learners.

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom with clear routines and high expectations.

  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers and colleagues.

    • The ideal candidate will have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • A sound understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and Year 2 expectations.

  • Effective classroom management and an engaging teaching style.

  • The ability to adapt lessons for pupils with a range of needs.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and helping every child succeed.
