SEND Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary (ASD Focus) Location: South East London Start Date: January 2026 Pay: £95 - £115 per day

Veritas Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school with a dedicated SEND provision, who are seeking an experienced and committed SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026.

This OFSTED-rated 'Good' school is recognised for its strong inclusive ethos and commitment to meeting the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other additional needs. Working within the school's SEND provision, you will support pupils in accessing learning both within the provision and, where appropriate, in the mainstream classroom.

This role is ideal for a patient, resilient, and proactive individual with proven experience supporting children with ASD, who is passionate about creating a structured, nurturing, and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will Have:

  • Proven experience supporting children with ASD (essential)

  • Experience working within a mainstream primary school SEND provision (highly desirable)

  • A strong understanding of autism-friendly strategies, including structured routines and visual supports

  • Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD

  • Supporting pupils to access both SEND provision-based and mainstream lessons

  • Implementing individual support plans and behaviour strategies
