About the Role

Canberra Grammar School is seeking a vibrant, collaborative, and adaptive Primary School Teacher to join our Primary School community from Term 2, 2026, for a fixed-term contract.

The Primary Teacher at Canberra Grammar School plays a central role in shaping a vibrant, caring, and intellectually rich learning environment. They are deeply committed to the growth and wellbeing of each student, fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning through engaging and effective classroom practice. About You

You are dedicated, passionate and possess the following:

  • An ACT teacher’s registration through the ACT TQI
  • Expert knowledge of teaching, learning and curriculum
  • The ability to use data-informed practice to impact student learning
  • Strong understanding of holistic development of student wellbeing and classroom management
  • The ability and willingness to work collaboratively with all CGS team members
  • PYP experience or an understanding of Inquiry pedagogy
  • The ability to reflect on professional practice, set goals and an openness to growth
  • Competent use of a range of digital tools to support learning, teaching and administrative processes
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to the full life of an Independent school and a willingness to engage in School activities out of regular hours.

All team members at CGS are required to have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree and teaching qualification
  • A valid ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
  • A current National Police Check
  • Full working rights within Australia
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
