Teaching Assistant Needed for Key Stage 2 - Primary School in Preston
We are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Preston who are looking for an experienced Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role involves supporting pupils across KS2, with a focus on helping children with additional learning needs to engage, progress, and thrive.
About the role:
You'll be supporting children across Key Stage 2, providing both classroom-based and targeted small‑group support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils during lessons to help them access the curriculumDelivering small‑group interventions in areas such as reading, writing, and mathsAssisting with behaviour regulation and promoting positive learning behavioursHelping pupils develop confidence, independence, and social skillsWorking closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement support strategiesWho we're looking for:
A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)At least 6 months of experience supporting children within a school setting, ideally KS2Confidence in working with children with additional learning or behavioural needsA positive, patient, and proactive attitudeA genuine passion for helping children succeed throughout their primary educationBonus if you have:
Experience delivering KS2 interventionsKnowledge of support strategies for children with SENDA current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Ongoing support from Veritas Consultant Skye Harrison.Why work on supply with Veritas?
