1:1 Teaching Assistant Needed - Primary School
We are currently working with a supportive primary school that is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a child with additional needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children overcome barriers to learning.
About the Role:
You will be providing one-to-one support for a child who requires additional help to engage fully with school life. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing consistent 1:1 support during lessons, group activities, and transitionsAssisting with communication, emotional regulation, and behaviourHelping to implement personalised learning strategies set by the class teacher and SENCOSupporting the child's social skills, confidence, and independenceMaintaining clear communication with staff, parents, and outside professionalsDepending on the child's needs, the role may also include elements of personal care.
Who We're Looking For:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)Experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs in a primary schoolAbility to build a trusting, positive relationship with childrenCalm, caring, and resilient approachStrong communication skills and the ability to follow support plans effectivelyBonus If You Have:
Experience working 1:1 with children with communication or behavioural needsKnowledge of SEND strategies and intervention methodsA current enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)Why Work with Veritas?
