About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of Early Learning, this is a full-time leadership position (38 hours per week) commencing at the beginning of Term 3, 2025.
As the Preschool Director, you will play a central role in nurturing a warm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that reflects the College’s values and commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
In close partnership with the Director of Early Learning, you will lead curriculum development, guide and support staff, oversee daily operations, and build meaningful connections with families.

The role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including:
Leadership:
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Early Learning and other Site Directors to maintain high-quality teaching and learning environments.
- Lead and inspire staff to uphold excellence in children’s learning, outcomes and performance.
Children & Families:
- Be an active leader in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs for individual children and groups in consultation with the Preschool Leadership team, additional College Leaders (if required) and the input of children and families/caregivers.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, families, and staff and maintain clear and purposeful communication with parents and caregivers.
Compliance:
- Be the Nominated Supervisor and Responsible Person for the Gawler Preschool.
- With the support of the Director of Early Learning, be the Educational Leader in accordance with the ACECQA qualifications and requirements.
Administration:
- Ensure that records are maintained and up to date as required by South Australian Licensing Regulations, National Quality Standard, and Trinity College Policies and Procedures.
- Assist with the development, evaluation and implementation of policies and procedures.
Human Resources:
- Lead and inspire our Preschool staff to meet the service and position expectations
- Conduct staff performance appraisals in collaboration with the Director of Early Learning.
About You:
Key qualities and skills for this position include:
- An ACCEQA-recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree, and registered with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.
- Expertise in curriculum development, pastoral care, and Preschool operations.
- Excellent understanding of and commitment to the Early Childhood Practice informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, Social Justice and Inclusive Practices.
- Experience delivering inclusive Early Childhood programs and working with children and families with additional needs, including vulnerable situations and culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to build a cohesive team.
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership style and skilled at building relationships and trust with key stakeholders.
- Naturally display strong people-centered leadership competencies.
- First Aid, Emergency Asthma, and Anaphylaxis training
- Responding to Abuse and Neglect certification
- Working With Children Certification
