About the Role

We are seeking a Policy Officer to provide Secretariat support to the department's key strategic governance committee. The role provides opportunities to expand your excellent stakeholder engagement skills and contribute to programs of work focused on building governance capability and processes. You will be part of a high-performing team delivering governance products, advice and Secretariat support that enables good governance practice and robust decision-making across key strategic committees. Governance, Strategy and Planning offers a flexible and inclusive workplace where you can build your skills and knowledge, collaborate and meaningful contribute to the department's strategic priorities and objectives.

Responsibilities include

  • Manage governance committee arrangements on behalf of the Secretariat for key departmental governance committees, including coordinating meeting logistics, communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Support the development of governance resources, tools and processes to build governance capability
  • Provide a high level of support, advice and client service to stakeholders and senior executives.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation and coordination skills
  • Excellent communicator who enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and as part of a team
  • High level skills in problem solving, prioritisation and managing completing demands in a timely manner
  • Ability to work across a number of areas, in a fast-paced environment and prioritise accordingly.
