About the Role
Performing Arts Program Management
- Oversee aspects of the school's performing arts program, ensuring a structured and progressive approach to skill development in drama, dance and music.
- Design and implement programs that enhance artistic techniques, stage presence, and performance skills.
- Engage in the organisation of school events including school productions, concerts, recitals, and competitive showcases.
- Monitor student progress, providing targeted coaching and mentorship to support artistic and personal growth.
- Ensure program objectives align with school policies, national arts education guidelines, and student welfare considerations.
Student Development and Training
- Prepare students for performances through a comprehensive program focused on fundamental techniques, artistic expression, and ensemble collaboration.
- Develop tailored classes that support beginners, intermediate, and advanced students in music, dance, and drama.
- Provide constructive feedback and individualized coaching to help students refine their skills and develop confidence.
- Foster a culture of artistic excellence by setting performance goals, tracking progress, and celebrating achievements.
- Conduct rehearsals and workshops outside of school hours when necessary to accommodate production schedules and additional coaching needs.
Production and Event Management
- Plan, organize, and manage student participation in school productions, competitions, community performances, and arts festivals.
- Assist in event logistics, including casting, scheduling, venue booking, and technical requirements such as lighting, sound, and costumes.
Collaboration and Communication
- Actively collaborate, communicate, and liaise with students, parents, and school colleagues to foster a thriving performing arts environment.
- Work closely with school leadership, teaching staff, and student support teams.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding rehearsal schedules, student progress, performance expectations, and any concerns.
Student Well-being and Inclusion
- Ensure all students have the opportunity to participate in performing arts regardless of ability level, experience, or background.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, ensuring fair casting, equitable access to resources, and diverse artistic representation.
Professionalism and Leadership
- Model professional behaviour in all aspects of program coordination, directing, and performance coaching.
Administration and Compliance
- Ensure all activities associated with coaching and program administration comply with relevant legislation, safety standards, and school policies.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure student safety during rehearsals and performances.
