About the Role

A highly regarded and sought-after primary school in Blackburn is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join from September 2026. This part-time role offers the opportunity to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

You will play a central role in ensuring high-quality support for pupils with additional needs, working closely with staff, families, and external agencies to promote strong outcomes for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead SEND provision across the school
  • Oversee EHCP applications, reviews, and compliance
  • Support and advise teaching staff on effective SEN strategies
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals
  • Monitor pupil progress and impact of interventions
  • Contribute to whole-school inclusion and development plans

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified teacher with SENCO experience or NASENCO qualification (or working towards)
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Primary school experience essential
  • Passionate about inclusion and pupil progress
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
