The Department employs approximately 100 (full time) Occupational Therapists working in Queensland State Schools supporting students with disability to achieve the best outcomes from their education.
Your Opportunity:
In this role you will advance your professional knowledge and skills in evidence based, contemporary paediatric OT practices. You will support students to access and participate in learning and assist schools to deliver inclusive education.
This position can be based in Rockhampton or Emerald. Regular travel is an essential requirement of the role. Experience in telepractice service delivery is highly desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Support students with disability to access, participate and succeed in education through evidence-based occupational therapy services
- Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, families and other professionals to identify barriers to learning and implement appropriate supports
- Assess student needs and develop strategies, interventions and reasonable adjustments to enhance learning outcomes
- Provide advice, resources and consultation to school staff and families to support inclusive education practices
- Monitor, evaluate and maintain records relating to occupational therapy services and student progress
- Participate in multidisciplinary teams to support student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement
- Contribute to service planning, quality improvement, research and governance activities
- Engage in ongoing professional development, clinical supervision and support the supervision of university occupational therapy students
