About the Role

We are looking to appoint a warm, enthusiastic, and committed Early Years Practitioner to join our welcoming nursery team in Leeds. This opportunity is open to both unqualified practitioners with relevant childcare experience and candidates holding a full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years.

As part of our team, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning and development in line with the EYFS framework. You will help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Qualified practitioners may take on key person responsibilities, building strong relationships with children and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and delivery of stimulating, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS

  • Promote children's learning and development through play-based experiences

  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and learning journeys

  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children at all times

  • Work in partnership with parents and carers, maintaining professional communication

  • Follow safeguarding policies and procedures consistently

  • Work collaboratively as part of a supportive nursery team

  • Person Specification

    Essential:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification or relevant experience in an early years setting (for unqualified applicants)

  • Sound understanding of child development and the EYFS (or willingness to learn)

  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities

  • A nurturing, patient, and positive approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Desirable:

  • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to undertake training)

  • Experience as a key person

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
