Veritas Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who can inspire a love of music and help students develop their performance, composition, and listening skills across Key Stages 3 and 4.

The Role

  • Teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their musical talents.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.
  • Support and contribute to extracurricular music activities, performances, and events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Music curriculum and wider arts provision.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, and professional practice.

    • The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Music education.
  • Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students through innovative teaching practices.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to raising attainment and supporting student development.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Veritas Education.
