Ravenswood is a Uniting Church Prep to Year 12 day and boarding school for girls located on Sydney’s North Shore. Ravenswood offers both the HSC and the IB Diploma Programme as well as the PYP in the Junior School. We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Music Teacher to join our dedicated team commencing in Term 4, 2024 and concluding at the end of Term 3, 2025. This is temporary role replacing someone who is going on parental leave. The role is full time for Term 4, and will be part time in 2025 with a load of approximately 0.725 FTE, spread across a two week cycle.
To be successful in securing this position you will have demonstrated teaching ability in Music, experience with Kodály methodology, strong ICT skills and an ability to differentiate in the delivery of curriculum, as well as a flexible, collegial approach.
Essential criteria:
- Qualification in Education and registration with NESA;
- Experience teaching Junior School Music, K – Year 6
- Knowledge and understanding of the curriculum and requirements;
- Effective interpersonal communication skills; and
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience teaching Music in Years 7 and 8;
- Ability to play piano and guitar/ukulele
In addition to the academic load, there are opportunities to be involved in co-curricular music ensembles and performances, and other co-curricular activities before and after school.
