Hennessy is a comprehensive co-educational regional Catholic College catering for students from Years 7-12. About the Role

At Hennessy, our Mathematics Teachers have a comprehensive understanding of the different ways in which students understand Math. To be successful in this role you will need to provide effective and timely feedback to students and parents while also creating and maintaining a learning environment that stimulates learning and promotes excellence.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Use a variety of teaching and learning techniques to meet individual needs
  • Identify learner needs, conferring with specialist staff in the school when necessary
  • Maintain professional confidentiality on information about students
  • Communicate with and establish effective and cooperative working relationships with colleagues
  • Use a variety of teaching and learning techniques to meet individual needs as far as possible
  • Communicate in a clear, respectful and professional way to optimise each student’s development

Qualification 

  • Must hold NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) registration
  • Must hold a NSW Education Standard Authority (NESA) accreditation. 
  • Must have completed relevant Education/Teaching tertiary qualification.

Selection Criteria 

  1. A sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and NSW Curriculum with the ability to organise, select and design content for effective teaching and learning.
  2. Relevant qualifications and professional experience.
  3. Classroom management and organisational skills that create supportive and safe environments including managing challenging student behaviours and meeting a variety of learning needs.
  4. Successful planning and implementation of teaching programs.
  5. A comprehensive understanding of assessment and reporting strategies and the need to provide effective and timely feedback to parents and students.
  6. The capacity to be a proactive member of a professional learning community complying with legal, administrative and professional requirements.
