St John's College, Woodlawn is a co-educational Catholic Secondary College situated in a charming rural setting 5km from Lismore and just over half an hour from Ballina and Byron Bay. The current enrolments are around 770.

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

Part time temporary position, 75 hours per fortnight

commencing 31 January, 2025

Applicants must: 

  • hold a valid NSW Working with Children Check
  • have the ability to handle tasks with a high degree of confidentiality
  • have a working knowledge of WH&S and equity in employment and a demonstrated capacity to apply related principles and policies
  • comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment

Selection Criteria - 

  • Provide evidence of well-developed communication, administrative and office skills with an ability to deal tactfully, confidently and effectively with people at all levels
  • Have the capacity to show initiative and demonstrate effective time management, organisational and planning skills with an ability to meet pressing deadlines and competing priorities
  • Have an advanced English proficiency and exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly developed skills in social media management, graphic design and basic video editing as well as a range of Microsoft and Google applications with willingness and ability to learn new systems
  • Capacity to take direction and willingness to work as part of a team 
  • Collaborate with staff to align content with strategic goals and promote community initiatives
  • Previously relevant experience is essential
  • Current First Aide Certificate is desirable

Key Responsibilities -

  • Manage and create engaging content for social media platforms, aligned with the College's mission and values
  • Produce, manage and edit communications, e.g. Newsletters, annual yearbook and update the Website with accuracy and consistency
  • Provide photography support where required for small College events
  • Promote and cover school events through digital campaigns and live updates
  • ability to be flexible with hours when required
  • have the ability to identify the Mission of a Catholic School and demonstrate Christian Values in dealings with staff
