About the role:

As the Manager, you will:

  • Lead a large, diverse team delivering intensive education case management, working with students and families with complex needs and backgrounds, collaborating and negotiating with other government and non-government agencies, and stakeholder engagement activities for the region.
  • Lead the provision of high quality, evidence-based education case management for young people with complex histories and circumstances to achieve positive educational outcomes, transitions and pathways for young people and their families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage and develop staff to deliver evidence-based, innovative and effective case management support, governance and reporting activities, project management, and engagement initiatives in relation to intensive education case management.
  • Lead and oversee the management of recruitment and selection, workforce planning, training and performance of staff to build capacity and ensure a high level of case management service delivery in line with departmental requirements
  • Strategically manage and triage regional education case management caseloads and coordinate, analyse, develop, monitor and review regional case management governance and planning activities to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, legislation and policy, and adherence to stipulated timeframes by utilising individual and team capabilities.
  • Analyse, review and refine regional systems and processes in line with continuous improvement practices to ensure the successful delivery of intensive education case management and maintain currency with regard to changing business and policy requirements.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including state school principals, regional staff, personnel from other regional and divisional offices, and staff from other government departments, external stakeholders in non-government organisations, non-state schools and education and training providers to maximise available options for case managed young people.

Our ideal candidate would possess these attributes:

  • Have an understanding of the mechanisms and frameworks to support families and young people with complex needs
  • Provide strategic oversight and support of the Intensive Education Case Management Initiative
  • Promote/maintain engagement with key government and community partners including Child Safety, QPS and Youth Justice
  • Utilise regional data sets and develop engagement initiatives to address gaps/trends in engagement and retention
