About the Role:
As the Manager, New Schools Planning, your role will include (but not be limited to):
- Lead, manage and participate in a team(s) providing a high-quality service in the formulation of innovative and workable solutions for infrastructure and planning related services to internal and external clients and stakeholders.
- Provide and be accountable for high level advice to the Minister, Director-General, Division management and senior executive, Regional Directors and Principals on a broad range of issues including the preparation of responses, reports and briefing materials on a range of infrastructure, planning and asset management issues and review material created members of your team(s).
- Manage project teams in the development, implementation, maintenance and review of programs, policies and procedures to support the strategic direction of the department for a range of infrastructure and planning related issues.
- Establish and maintain strategic networks to monitor issues and changes, and to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to implementing consistent processes with respect to a range of infrastructure and planning related services and facilitate ongoing departmental relationships within these networks.
About You:
The ideal applicant will possess the following knowledge, skills, experience and personal attributes:
- Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to meet client needs, represent the department and maintain mutually productive partnerships with stakeholders including local government, other state government agencies including QGSO and other internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrated high level analytical skills with the ability to develop conclusions using varied sources of information and a willingness to test assumptions through collaboration.
- A desire to improve systems, services, policies, practices and processes to ensure that departmental objectives are achieved and to be accountable for the course of action taken to create this improvement.
- A positive and collaborative approach to complex issues and enjoys working as a team to develop solutions.
This position is a Temporary Part-time role of 58 hours per fortnight (0.8FTE) until 3 October 2025 unless otherwise determined. The role is for four days a week.
