About Us:

The Building Future Schools Program provides leadership, governance, program and project management, close collaborative working, and extensive and comprehensive engagement with stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver a future ready school network for the inner city of Brisbane.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead and report on the financial performance and progress of key programs and significant projects within the Department's Infrastructure Investment Portfolio.
  • Develop, maintain and monitor critical relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Prepare coherent and politically sensitive reports, correspondence and submissions to key stakeholders and clients, including the Minister and Director-General.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment to meet deadlines and establish work priorities to maximise efficiency.
  • Travel, including local and overnight travel is a requirement of the role. The successful candidate must be able to perform this travel and if required, will be provided a departmental vehicle where appropriate.
  • Attendance at site meetings including undertaking site walks to monitor and report on project progress and performance.

Highly desirable skills and experience;

  • Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to lead others, meet client needs and represent the department, and foster and maintain productive partnerships with team members and internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level analytical and problem-solving skills and have the understanding of project delivery and project management of construction related works.
  • Personal drive and integrity including the ability to proactively improve systems, services, policies, practices and processes to ensure that departmental objectives are achieved and to be accountable for the course of action taken to create this improvement.
