Your Role:

The Manager, Intensive Education Case Service will lead, manage and develop a team of Intensive Education Case Managers in supporting students and families with complex needs and backgrounds. The role will promote collaboration with other government and non-government agencies and lead the provision of high quality, evidence-based education case management for young people with complex histories and circumstances to achieve positive educational outcomes, transitions and pathways.
The Manager will oversee the delivery of best practice case management protocols, strategies and integrated supports to reduce lost days of learning and improve educational outcomes for students at risk of disengagement from education.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage and develop staff to deliver evidence-based, innovative and effective case management support, governance and reporting activities, project management, and engagement initiatives in relation to intensive education case management.
  • Strategically manage and triage regional education case management caseloads and coordinate, develop and review case management governance and planning activities to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, legislation and policy.
  • Provide high level advice on the case management of students and reporting against agreed objectives.
  • Lead and oversee the management of recruitment and selection, workforce planning, training and performance of staff to build capacity and ensure a high level of case management service delivery in line with departmental requirements
  • Analyse, review and refine regional systems and processes in line with continuous improvement practices to ensure the successful delivery of intensive education case management and maintain currency with regard to changing business and policy requirements.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of intensive education case management, including direct case management provision proportionate to team management responsibilities, and resolution of escalated student cases.
  • Initiate, develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including state school principals, regional staff, personnel from other regional and divisional offices, and staff from other government departments, external stakeholders in non-government organisations, non-state schools and education and training providers to maximise available options for case managed young people.
  • Provide strategic advice and oversee stakeholder engagement activities including interagency forums and events, ensuring compliance with departmental process, legal and public policy requirements.

The Manager will hold a small caseload, and therefore skills in case management, as well as team leadership, are required.
