Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage and develop staff to deliver evidence-based, innovative and effective case management support, governance and reporting activities, project management, and engagement initiatives in relation to intensive education case management.
  • Lead and oversee the management of recruitment and selection, workforce planning, training and performance of staff to build capacity and ensure a high level of case management service delivery in line with departmental requirements
  • Strategically manage and triage regional education case management caseloads and coordinate, analyse, develop, monitor and review regional case management governance and planning activities to ensure alignment with strategic priorities, legislation and policy, and adherence to stipulated timeframes by utilising individual and team capabilities.
  • Analyse, review and refine regional systems and processes in line with continuous improvement practices to ensure the successful delivery of intensive education case management and maintain currency regarding changing business and policy requirements.
  • Lead and oversee delivery of intensive education case management, including direct case management provision proportionate to team management responsibilities, and resolution of escalated student cases
  • Initiate, develop and maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including state school principals, regional staff, personnel from other regional and divisional offices, and staff from other government departments, external stakeholders in non-government organisations, non-state schools and education and training providers to maximise available options for case managed young people.
  • Oversee the development of case management practices, protocols and strategies, provide advice on managing potential issues in consultation with internal stakeholders, and ensure the effective management of corporate information, and communication systems and processes within the regional office.
  • Provide strategic advice and oversee stakeholder engagement activities including interagency forums and events, ensuring compliance with departmental process, legal and public policy requirements.
  • Research and prepare complex internal and external briefing material, reports, submissions, and ministerial and corporate correspondence.
  • Provide leadership and model exemplary conduct in promoting a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for staff which encourages commitment, skills development and professional growth.

  • Possess a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.
  • Possess a current drivers' licence.
  • Are required to work some after hours.
  • Are required to travel and overnight absences from base may be required.
