About the Department:

About the Role
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and deliver a range of specified financial services that meet client needs and provide outcomes that contribute to improved student outcomes and comply with all relevant policy, procedures, legislation and standards.
- Provide and ensure the provision of impartial and authoritative advice to departmental clients on a range of specific accountabilities, including budget and resource management, budget review processes and financial aspects of other operational and administrative school and region responsibilities.
- Actively encourage and enable the building of organisational capabilities and professional expertise within the team and within schools and the region.

About You
In addition to the above responsibilities, to ensure success in the role, the successful applicant would possess these attributes:
- Effectively leading a team of 10 staff across two offices. (Mt Gravatt and Ipswich Regional offices)
- Lead and encourage the team to provide expert financial advice to the schools Leadership Team and Administrative staff. (This includes periodic visits to schools. There are 205 schools in the Metropolitan South Region)
- Encourage schools to utilise state-wide finance tools, training materials and systems. (e.g. school budget solution- planning module)
- Lead the team under a High Performance Teams framework, where the Manager, enables and cares for the team.
- Ensure hygiene factors, such as Professional Development Plans, ADO, TOIL and mandatory training are effectively managed.
