Your Opportunity:

As the Manager, Accreditation and Government Funding Eligibility you will lead the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board (“NSSAB”) Secretariat as well as lead the provision of authoritative recommendations, advice and information to NSSAB, the Director-General and the Minister on educational, accreditation and eligibility for government funding matters.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide expert advice on the development and application of procedures to review, assess and prepare recommendations to NSSAB on applications for accreditation and eligibility for government funding of proposed non-state schools, as well as changes to the accreditation and eligibility for government funding of existing schools.
  • Lead the development, management and application of programs and procedures to support the regulation of accreditation and eligibility for government funding of non-state schools in Queensland.
  • Lead and manage the development, and application of procedures to review, assess and prepare recommendations to NSSAB on accreditation and eligibility for government funding and on unaccredited places.
  • Lead and manage the non-state schools demonstration of compliance program, including the analysis and assessment of plans and reports, the preparation of recommendations and advice to NSSAB and correspond with schools on compliance outcomes.
  • Lead and manage the non-state school accreditation assessment program and the unaccredited places program, including the engagement and deployment of authorised persons, and conduct training and briefing sessions and act as an authoritative point of reference for stakeholders.
  • Support the management of NSSAB's statutory compliance requirements by assisting with the preparation and review of the Board's annual report, strategic and operational plans and other key documents as necessary.
  • Lead and manage the preparation of correspondence between NSSAB and applicants and other parties as part of the accreditation, funding eligibility and compliance processes.
  • Manage the conduct of high level research, analysis, interpretation and review of non-state schools legislation and other impacting issues in order to provide advice, briefings or prepare correspondence for NSSAB, the Minister and senior management.

  • You will be highly organised, be able to lead complex issues, and have highly developed conceptual, analytical and communication skills.
  • You have the ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy in a regulatory environment, including the ability to analyse complex matters, make sound judgments and recommendations regarding appropriate course of action, manage a high volume of work, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
