September Start Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Literacy Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Wandsworth from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff who are passionate about improving literacy outcomes and helping young people reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with literacy development across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Deliver targeted reading, writing and literacy intervention programmes.
  • Work closely with the English Department and SEN team.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students requiring additional literacy assistance.
  • Monitor student progress and contribute to raising attainment.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

  • Has a strong standard of written and spoken English.
  • Holds a degree or relevant qualification (desirable).
  • Has experience working with young people in an educational setting.
  • Is patient, proactive and committed to supporting student achievement.
  • Has a genuine interest in education and literacy development.
