We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle Leader (Learning & Teaching Leader Student Engagement). This is a tier 3 position. This is a full-time continuing teaching appointment, with an initial three-year appointment as Middle Leader. Two subsequent three-year appointments as Middle Leader will be offered following a successful performance review. The position is released 6 hours per week.

 
About the role -
The role of Learning & Teaching Leader Student Engagement is to support the mission of Holy Spirit College through leadership of the learning and teaching program and holistic education of students. The Learning & Teaching Leader Student Engagement is responsible for working collaboratively with other Middle Leaders to:
  • provide leadership for teachers in developing appropriate curriculum in line with National, State and Brisbane Catholic Education requirements • ensure the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through appropriate supervision
  • monitor student engagement using a range of indicators including BI data (e.g., academic, attendance, behaviour) and staff and parent/caregiver referral
  • utilise PB4L and restorative practice resources and frameworks to provide wrap around support at the appropriate level
  • gather, analyse, and interpret current data from a range of sources to inform decision making
  • develop appropriate partnerships within and outside the College
  • support the Senior Leadership Team with the strategic direction of the College
  • transformation of teacher practice through coaching to wholly engage each student in deeper learning
  • organising events (i.e., Retreat Days, Transition Days, etc.) / camps in collaboration with other middle leaders
  • resourcing / budgeting
  • act sustainably with available resources.

At BCE our teachers are required to:
  • Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
  • Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

About our school:
Holy Spirit College is a Catholic co-educational secondary school located in the rapidly developing suburb of Fitzgibbon in North Brisbane, approximately 15km from Brisbane City. The College opened in January 2022 with 96 Year 7 students and will increase by one year level each year until it reaches Year 12. We currently have 335 students from years 7-9.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
