Learning Support Assistant (KS1)

Location: Harrow, London Position: Learning Support Assistant (KS1) Contract: Long-term, Full-time Start Date: ASAP Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are a vibrant and welcoming two-form entry primary school in Harrow, recently graded as Outstanding in our last Ofsted inspection. We are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our KS1 team on a full-time, long-term basis. The successful candidate will support the learning and development of children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to adapt lesson plans and learning materials.
  • Supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of students in KS1.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupils' progress and providing regular feedback to the teaching team and SENCO.
  • Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a school setting with children with special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young children's learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and a caring approach to working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
