The Invitation

Arndell Anglican College invites applications for the position of Languages Teacher (contract), commencing Term 3 2024.  Contract available for Term 3 or Semester 2 with applications for fulltime or part-time being considered.

The Languages Teacher is responsible for student learning and development, nurturing student creativity, academic achievement, and inspiring a lifelong appreciation for languages.

Reporting to the Head of Department – Languages, the Languages Teacher will collaborate with the Languages Team, other teaching staff and teacher aides to encourage students to grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.  In particular the Languages Teacher will:

  • Teach French and Italian.
  • Design interesting and engaging lessons for students with a wide range of learning abilities and styles.
  • Deliver high quality content to students that is engaging and accessible.
  • Hold student attention and interest, employing a variety of pedagogies and differentiating / scaffolding work as required.
  • Prepare students for competitions, and NSW Higher School Certificate examinations.
  • Provide students with clear and fair assessment, including regular, constructive feedback.

About You

As a Languages Teacher you hold qualifications in Education (Teaching), are experienced teaching French and Italian.  You are goal oriented, highly organised, passionate about the education of young people, able to engage students who possess a range of interests and abilities, able to work collaboratively across the whole school, and are a person of Christian faith.  With the expertise and enthusiasm to contribute to the teaching of Languages your collaborative style and professionalism will see you build culture and community within a diverse and dynamic environment.
