 St Sava College is a co-educational Serbian Orthodox School located in south-west Sydney. The 186-acre property sits between Campbelltown Rd and Camden Valley Way at 381 St Andrews Rd Varroville.

St Sava College, registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), is seeking to employ outstanding educators to be part of a passionate, energetic and creative team.

The mission of St Sava College is to light the Path to Life. We aim to nurture virtue in the souls of students, staff and parents by immersion in a classical curriculum and historical Orthodox Christian spirituality.

Role

Applicants will:

  • be baptised Christians who support the mission, vision, values, and philosophy of the school
  • comply with school policies and procedures
  • perform responsibilities and duties appropriate for a Junior School Class Teacher
  • implement best classroom practice
  • engage in professional learning

Applicants will have:

  • recognised teaching qualifications to teach K-6, and satisfy NESA requirements to teach in NSW schools
  • experience as a classroom teacher and sound knowledge of NSW syllabuses and curriculum
  • experience in writing, implementing, and assessing high quality teaching programs across all KLAs
  • demonstrated ability to plan and differentiate teaching and learning programs, and use data to drive improvement in student outcomes
  • demonstrated excellence in the effective use of evidence-based pedagogies to implement high quality literacy and numeracy programs
  • experience in assessing, tracking and reporting on student progress
  • a strong commitment to ongoing development of best classroom practice
  • a capacity to promote student wellbeing and implement positive behaviour management practices
  • highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a whole school team to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and community

Conditions

Salary and employment conditions are based on the Independent Schools NSW Teachers (Hybrid Model) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2021. The Independent Schools (Teachers) Cooperative Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2025 may replace the 2021 MEA in 2025.
