Suitably experienced and qualified applicants are invited to apply for a permanent full-time, term-time Student Support Assistant role in our Junior School.

The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Student Support Assistant to join our Student Support and Enrichment (SS&E) Team, from Term 2 2024. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, co-operative team, with a passion for providing a vibrant, dynamic, and innovative educational program for our students in the Junior School.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist with and participating in learning activities and prepare learning areas.

You will also provide individualised, one on one support and assistance to students, to support the student’s full participation and learning in the classroom. Particularly, support will be provided to students with additional learning, physical, social, or behavioural difficulties.

About you

The successful candidate will have experience in providing high quality, impactful support and assistance to students, and confidence working with children. They will be a confident self-starter who enjoys building relationships with multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of the College. You may have experience as or working in an organisation with Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, experience as a Disability Support Worker within a program for children with additional needs etc.

Candidates must:

· Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in providing one on one support to students/children within a school or similar setting

· Have a relevant qualification in School Based Education Support, Youth Work, Disability Work etc.

· Work as a member of a team to support children’s engagement and success as learners

· Demonstrate a passion for collaborative working as a member of a high-functioning team, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

· Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience

· Support the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills, development of conceptual understanding, and the development of positive attitudes

· Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare

· Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals

· Uphold Radford’s Values of Truth, Compassion and Wisdom

Qualifications

· Qualification in an educational or allied health field, or relevant to the duties performed

· Additional training, qualifications or skills in providing support to students with additional needs will be highly regarded

· Current First Aid Certificate

· Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications
