ABOUT THE POSITION
Cranbrook School is seeking a Junior School Nurse, who is responsible for the health care of the students of Cranbrook Junior School, staff and visitors and for specified administrative tasks related to the care and well-being of students on the Junior School campus.

he role is part-time 2 days per week (Monday and Tuesday, total of 16 hours per week).

ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have experience in schools, working with young primary aged children, a kind and empathetic nature, be collegial and able to take direction. The successful applicant will also be prepared to undertake some administrative tasks as directed by the Office Manager, and be able to have some flexibility to swap work days occasionally. 

Key Selection Criteria
Applicants must hold the following qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse certificate, qualified to practise in NSW;
  • Current registration with AHPRA;
  • Current CPR and Senior First Aid certificate.
  • Training in anaphylaxis and asthma management.

Applicants must possess:

  • A passion for health promotion, professional and personal development;
  • Clear and professional communication skills and an ability to build relationships with a range of people and groups within the School Community, including but not limited to, parent bodies, sporting groups and the extended community;
  • Professional presentation and strong customer service skills;
  • A friendly, kind and courteous manner;
  • Ability to think clearly and to remain calm when under pressure;
  • Strong attention to detail and ownership of tasks;
  • Pro-active approach to planning tasks and anticipating requirements of other staff and students;
  • Honesty, patience and a sense of humour;
  • The ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality; and
  • Capacity to use a variety of IT applications.

Knowledge of Operoo (formally known as CareMonkey) and database programmes would be an advantage.
