Good Samaritan Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 College located at Bli Bli on the Sunshine Coast. The College opened in 2019 and is steadily growing towards full enrolment of approximately 1500 students. The first seniors have graduated from the College in 2024. Working across primary and secondary year levels, the Good Sams community (Bli Bli,  Sunshine Coast, QLD) is seeking to appoint an Instrumental Music Tutor – Piano, to work with students and join the Good Sams dedicated music program. As the successful applicant, you will posses specialisations in the following 

  1. Ability to teach pair and individual lessons.
  2. Knowledge of, and a willingness to prepare students for external music examinations is required (AMEB and / or Trinity).
  3. Willingness to be involved in the instrumental music program and provide performance opportunities to students.

 

The successful applicant will be:

  • Qualified (with a degree in music and / or education) and / or have appropriate teaching experience within a school environment.
  • Pro-active, enthusiastic and have skills to inspire and nurture the musical aspirations of motivated students from Prep to Year 12.
  • Skilled to teach in a variety of musical styles appropriate to the instrument.
  • Literate with technology, show initiative, be organised, prepared and accountable.
  • Willing to connect, contribute and work as part of a team
  • The ability to teach music theory and any other musical instruments would be an advantage.


The program at Good Sams is administered by school staff who support all teachers and ensure continued growth, while allowing individual teachers the independence to facilitate lessons based on their area of expertise and style of teaching. 

 

Tuition fees are collected by the school and the successful applicant will be guided by the conditions outlined in the BCE position description, school position statement and school officer award. Performances, meetings, reporting, extra-curricular activities and involvement with school ensembles is required.

  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
