Your Opportunity

As Infrastructure Manager you will provide leadership and expert advice to the Director Regional Operations, Regional Director and principals of schools, consultancy services regarding program management, infrastructure planning, investment, capital projects and asset management issues for all schools in the Metro South region.

It is a requirement when working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by BlueCard Services.

As the Infrastructure Manager, Metro South Region you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Lead and manage the regional infrastructure services team to coordinate and deliver regional and state-wide programs, and influence stakeholders to ensure their effective participation, contribution and engagement in delivering high quality consultancy and infrastructure management services to maximise outcomes.
  • Provide expert and strategic advice and briefings to the Regional Director and senior management within the region and the Executive Management Team in Infrastructure Services to support and inform the provision of cost-effective infrastructure services across all sites within the region.
  • Develop and implement business practices and processes to support current requirements and identify and address emerging issues including recommendations for the strategic acquisition of property and assets.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes for the delivery of high-quality consultancy and infrastructure management services that ensure consistency, continuity and quality of departmental strategy and policy for the delivery of designated capital works, maintenance and infrastructure services within defined scope, budget and financial performance, delivery timetable and quality standards.
  • Facilitate consultation and management of public interest issues and represent the Department in forums, working groups and business meetings.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of reports for senior management and the Minister on emergency situations and necessary response strategies to minimise identified risks and the subsequent impact on operations within the region.

What you need to succeed:

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following skills, capabilities and knowledge:

  • Demonstrate ability to focus strategically on key departmental issues at the regional level, and exhibit high level knowledge, experience and skills in infrastructure management and the ability to contribute effectively to strategic infrastructure planning processes and the development of asset and infrastructure maintenance policy.
  • Demonstrated high level capacity to implement strategies to manage, plan, monitor, report on and interpret reports associated with the provision of high quality infrastructure management services.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and sustain collaborative client relationships and develop capacity building strategies to support the efficient and effective use of infrastructure and assets.
  • High level ability to meet organisational targets and desired outcomes through establishing and maintaining effective and efficient practices and systems.
  • High level interpersonal skills as demonstrated through consultation and negotiation with officers at all levels both internal and external to the organisation.
